The Olde Cottage is a 'character meets contemporary' - seaside and country holiday retreat in East Kent. This exceptionally beautiful cottage is ideal as a romantic getaway for couples, friend, or a family of 5 people accommodated. 185 years old - you walk in to original beams, traditionally furnished, with modern living in mind. 

Inside the cottage (information for guests)

Downstairs:

• As you come into the cottage there is a small lobby with a downstairs cloakroom/ toilet, and an inner door then leads you straight into the lovely large lounge area with beams on the ceiling and an original feature fireplace.

• The lounge has a reinstated wood floor and we have added stylish rugs to protect the floor and make the cottage more comfortable for our guests.

• There is a Freeview TV, fast fibre broadband/ Wifi, and some books and games are provided in case of a rainy day.

• There is ample comfortable seating in the lounge for humans and your dog!

Kitchen/diner:

• An open plan layout leads you in to the modern Kitchen/Diner, still with beamed ceilings though and a dining table & chairs. 

• In the new Kitchen we have ensured that you have all the utensils and appliances you need. In keeping with the character of the cottage the worktops are solid Oak which is topped off with a Belfast sink.

• The cottage has an integrated dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, and washing machine, Air fryer, Microwave, Electric oven and hob, along with the kettle and toaster.

Conservatory and garden:

• Double wooden doors lead out to to the lovely large, sunny conservatory where there's more easy seating, and a breakfast table & chairs where you can sit and enjoy the morning sun. The conservatory has a door out to the private little courtyard garden, where you’re welcome to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. A bench seat, coffee table and other seating is available in the garden.

• Unless you’re over 7ft you shouldn’t need to duck anywhere as all the beams and ceilings are a good height, not what you expect in a Cottage that's 185 years old, but please be careful going up and down the stairs as they are quite steep and open as they would originally have been.

Upstairs at The Olde Cottage:

• Upstairs you’ll find a brand new bathroom, with walk-in shower and roll top bath, furnished in the traditional style. Because we have gas central heating in the cottage, hot water is instant, and all the radiators are set to an ambient temperature all year round.

Bedrooms - The bedrooms are all tastefully furnished in keeping with the cottage style:

• Main bedroom 1 (sleeps 2) with a full size Kingsize 5ft x 6ft 6’ bed, comfortable luxury medium firm mattress.

• Bedroom 2 is a Twin room (sleeps 2) but has a Ziplock mattress which makes the bed into a Kingsize if required, with a built-in wardrobe.

• Bedroom 3 is a Single bedroom (sleeps 1) Single bed.

 

Bed linen and towels are provided for the agreed number of guests at booking.
